Emily and Jared met after their mutual friend Will brought them together. Will has been Emily's best friend since middle school and was Jared's roommate turned friend in college. Their connection blossomed after the iconic 'holding hands' night out in Charlotte and the rest is history.

Emily was living in Winston-Salem at the time and Jared was a new graduate traveling between his hometown of Granite Falls and Charlotte. Emily would come visit in Charlotte where they would hang out with their closest friends and Jared would come visit Emily and his new furry friend Lilo. During this time in their life they got to enjoy sushi dates, red wine evenings and traveling to new places.

Emily eventually moved to Charlotte where she got to experience her first taste of living with Jared before she found her own apartment. They moved in together, along side their best friend Will. Here they found their love of hosting parties, and continuing the tradition of the iconic Christmas party. During this time Emily and Jared took many trips together along with friends and family.

They finally moved in together, plus their furry daughter Lilo to NoDa. NoDa became the place to enjoy wine at NoDa Company store, sticky nuggs at Billy Jacks and their favorite ice cream at Jeni's.

After dating for five years, Jared knew it was time to propose. After they enjoyed some glasses of wine, Jared got down on one knee at Freedom Park. Emily knew something was up as he was wearing dress shoes (IYKYK).

Now they are eagerly awaiting May 2025 in Charlotte, North Carolina where they will vow to continue traveling throughout life as husband and wife.
